Brian Kehoe

Guitarist & Sound Engineer

Brian began playing guitar at age 14, taking music lessons at the Saratoga Music & Fine Arts Center, where along with learning popular music of the day, he learned music theory and advanced playing tips and techniques from the Berklee College of Music book series.

Upon graduating high school, Brian became a music major, taking his lower division classes at Dean Anza College, then transferring to San Jose State University, where he learned music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras. It was here where he fell in love with the music of Mauro Giuliani, a 19th century Italian virtuoso guitarist and composer, as well as the music of the incomparable Johann Sebastian Bach. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music, graduating with honors and was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society.

Upon completing college Brian relocated to Los Angeles and attended the Sound Master Audio Engineering School in North Hollywood, where he learned theory, mastering and recording techniques from Brian Ingoldsby, who worked at MCA Records and was President of ABC’s Recording Studios Division. Ingoldsby worked with notable artists such as Elton John, Mick Jagger, Cher, Olivia Newton-John, Neil Diamond, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Al Kooper, Frank Zappa and Joe Cocker.

Brian’s Music

Songs by Brian features instrumental guitar music incorporating a mixture of the music he learned over the years, including, rock, blues, jazz and classical.

The guitars used are both acoustic and electric, featuring hand-made acoustic Esteve and Cordoba classical guitars made in Spain and California, as well as 1959 and 1960 Les Paul hand made reissue electric guitars, virtual identical replicas of those legendary guitars.
